Feedback Loops Overview

This season, Mountain Harvest’s theme is “feedback loops.” Consider the definition,

A feedback loop is a process where the output of a system is used as input, creating a cyclical relationship that allows for continuous improvement or self-regulation. This can be positive (amplifying an effect) or negative (counteracting a change).”

The entire season, we have asked ourselves in our communication strategy, our relationship management, and events – what are we amplifying here? What are we counteracting? Therefore, our goal is to create opportunities to create healthy feedback loops across our stakeholders, using Mountain Harvest as a connection point. We are organizing an ecosystem of events for people to engage with Mountain Harvest called “Feedback Loops” – (1)online public calls to meet MH and discuss the season, (2) in-person events at global trade shows, and (3) catalog cuppings hosted by friends around the world (ie you). The intention is low bandwidth opportunities at the individual level with great collective impact.

Feedback Loops - Catalog Cupping

The goal of the cupping is to be an introduction to our coffees. I will share a video you can present, you can talk about your relationship to Algrano and Mountain Harvest – how we are value aligned – and your role in creating opportunities to interact and engage with Mountain Harvest because you believe in our mission to challenge the status quo of Ugandan coffee production for the sake of smallholder farmers. We do not think it is reasonable for anyone to feel they can speak for MH. But we do think it is reasonable for you to curate an opportunity to engage with us via multiple points of connection, using a cupping space only as one way to connect with us.

Feedback Loops – Online Public Forum

We will release a list of dates and opportunities to log into a Feedback Loops call, where we will share the impact of the season, our successes and challenges, as we believe all our successes and challenges are shared. This will be an opportunity for those hosting cuppings to provide a next point of connection with Mountain Harvest.

Mountain Harvest exists to improve quality of life for those who produce the excellent coffees we experience from them – from their producers, to their staff members, to the coffee educators of tomorrow. To do this well, they must challenge the status quo of how the coffee business operates within Uganda and beyond. They partner with the best of the best farmers, coffee professionals, roaster partners, and organizations to demonstrate to others that quality coffee can bring quality impact in the communities around Uganda’s highest peaks.

Everyone who is interest in purchasing green coffee from Mountain Harvest is welcomed! Our KWCC Members & Coffee Roasters within the Community

  • A widely used method of evaluating coffee quality, consistency, and to further develop your palette.

Standard amounts of coffee are brewed with a simple immersion brew method. This eliminates other variables when brewing (ex. pour over which has more factors to brewing)
