For their first Kitchener-Waterloo cupping, we're bringing three coffees that take very different paths to the cup:
The Women of Planadas — A coffee produced by a family of women in Planadas, Tolima, who are investing in the future of their community and helping put a region shaped by years of internal conflict back on Colombia's map, while creating new opportunities for the next generation.
Sebastián Velázquez — Agronomist, Q Grader, and relentless experimenter at La Cumparsita in Chinchiná, Caldas. His coffees, including both caffeinated and decaffeinated lots, explore fermentation with precision and creativity, pushing what is possible while keeping the focus on the cup.
Luis Aníbal Calderón — A producer from Huila building on a family coffee legacy through rare and lesser-known varieties such as Wush Wush, Maragesha, and Moka. His work combines varietal exploration with carefully controlled natural processing, resulting in coffees that are as intriguing in the cup as they are at origin.
These are not coffees selected simply because they score well. They are coffees we believe give roasters something to work with, talk about, and share with their customers.
